What is a business line of credit?

Think of a line of credit as a financial safety net for your small business. It’s a credit account that’s available for you to use, or not use, at your discretion. Anytime you need it, the money is there for you. And you only owe interest on the funds you use. 

How much money can you access with a business line of credit? Typically, you can get the green light for any amount between $1,000 and $500,000. Many small business owners love this flexibility, using their credit lines for things like buying or upgrading equipment, paying employees, purchasing real estate, and much more. 

As far as financing options go, it’s fairly easy to apply for a business line of credit. As long as you’ve been in business for at least six months, generate at least $50,000 in annual revenue, and have a credit score of 560 or higher, you may very well have a sparkling new credit line in your future.
